Claerwen Reservoir

The Claerwen reservoir and dam were the last additions to the Elan Valley. The dam was completed in 1952 and took six years to complete.

At a capacity of 48, 300, 300 meters cubed, it is almost the size of all the other reservoirs in the Ellan Valley Combined.

The dam stands 56 meters (184 ft) high and has a length of 355 meters (1,165 ft).

People have been known to go abseiling on the dam for charity.
